A peek into this fabulous location.
We’re headed back to the gorgeous Paonia, CO. This is an incredible venue, filled with art, creativity, and heart. Join us for a special weekend.
Our host location, about 10 minutes outside of Paonia Colorado, is a little wild, a little down to earth, a little rustic, and a enormously, wonderfully beautiful.
Our host is a dedicated explorer in repurposing, reusing and recycling and his vision for this retreat has grown bit by bit over the years.
Please do not arrive expecting the amenities you find in the city, we’re off the grid here. There’s electricity but no formal lodging. Folks can choose to camp though much of the location is sloped so camping is best around the parking area. The Dance Hall, where we will be meeting during parts of our days, is available for bunking on the floor at night if you want to sleep inside.
There will be a latrine available or the wide open spaces for those personal needs.
Water has to be hauled in so bring what you need to help out there.
If you find sleeping outside or on the floor daunting, Paonia (10 minutes away,) Hotchkiss (25 minutes,) and Delta (48 minutes) have more traditional Lodging available.
An ode to wide open spaces
Oh, to nourish my soul in the wide open spaces.
In the dark of the night and the quiet of the trees,
In the peace of the breeze and the energy of the storms.
Oh, to feel the dry desert air, redolent of juniper and dust,
To sleep with the stars as my guardians above.
Take me to those spaces where my eyes can see
All the places unreachable, by my booted feet today.
Let me bask, let me bathe, let me wallow in all that wideness
As it envelopes me with the softest touch
and fills me with peace and love.
Take me
